There are rewards to all seasons. Plant trees first; they live a long time and need time to grow, plus they add structure. Forsythia provides early beauty. Good soil should be the foundation of all garden activity. We add a minimum of 15 yards of compost a year! Behind the house a new delphinium bed, they are queens like Marie Antoinette. Delphinium benefit from dividing every 4 or 5 years and very good soil plus drainage. Slowly I will add to this page as the season progresses. Tidy beds become a riot of blossoms, closer plantings give visual abundance.
